Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Muskies too much for Northland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The speed of Lakeland University helped lift them over the Northland College Women's Basketball team 112-28 Friday night in Plymouth, Wis.

The Muskies started fast scoring on their first seven shots. Lakeland ran a full-court press to start the game and it contributed to its early lead by forcing turnovers. Saleen Thepmontry scored the first Northland basket on a long two. Britta Josephson had the next make after grabbing her own miss then putting it up for two and got fouled on the make. After a defensive rebound by Josephson, she found Hanna Hoskin for a fast-break two-pointer.

In the second half, Hannah Peel connected on a jump shot for her first points of the game. Later in the quarter, she would hit the team's first three-pointer. To start the final quarter Josephson grabbed another offensive board and put it back to her eighth point of the game. In the back half of the final quarter, Hoskin converted on back-to-back three-pointers. Josephson scored the final four points for NC all coming in the paint.

Josephson led the team with a career-high 12 points and was one rebound away from a double-double at nine. Six of her rebounds came on the offensive glass. Hoskin finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Rounding out the top three in scoring was Peel with six. Kodie Rempp and Peel assisted on a team-high two baskets. Northland had two blocks in the game coming from Peel and Hoskin.
