ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team continues its season on the road as they travel to the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday and St. Cloud State University on Saturday. The Jacks and the Saints tip off at 7 p.m., and to end the week Northland plays a 1 p.m., game against SCSU.

Last week Northland fell in its opening weekend. Against Emmaus Bible College senior
Jahlani Thornton recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Thornton leads the Jacks scoring with 27 points and has a team-high in rebounds with 16.
Iansan Simpson has come off the bench in both games and is second on the team with 26 points. He started the game at Loras College going 5-for-5 from the field.

The Saints have started the season 0-4 including two losses to Upper Midwest Athletic Conference teams; the University of Wisconsin-Superior (73-84) and the University of Northwestern (78-85). Koy Nelson, Jacquez Overstreet, and Tanner Thomson all lead the scoring for CSS with 45 points through four games. Sophomore Aaron Keykal leads on the boards with 26 rebounds, double of the team's second leader.

Through the first six games of the season, the Division II Huskies are 3-3. Last week SCSU was defeated 104-115 by Concordia University-St. Paul then bounced back, winning 66-65 over Upper Iowa University on Monday. Sophomore Jamiir Allen paces the Huskies with 84 points even though he has only played in five of the six games. Wyatt Hawks is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game and has two games with double-digit rebounds.

Stephen Kesti has a connection to St. Cloud State with his father Greg Kesti playing for the Huskies in 1989-93. Greg Kesti ranks 12
th all-time at SCSU shooting 54.4 percent over his four seasons.
