ASHLAND, Wis.– The Northland College Volleyball team was defeated 0-3 (18-25, 16-25, 13-25) by Martin Luther College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Friday night in Ashland, Wis.

The Knights started the match scoring on seven of the first eight points.
Britta Josephson recorded the first kill for Northland and followed it up with another kill on the next point. The LumberJills cut the lead to 14-15 with Josephson scoring in the five-point Northland rally. The Knights closed out the set going on small but frequent rallies to take set one 25-18.

Martin Luther jumped out to an early 11-2 lead in set two. Northland cut the lead to five with a service ace from
Hannah Fisher. The large lead MLC built up was too much for Northland to overcome, dropping the set 16-25.

Northland had its first lead of the match early in the set after a three-point run capped off with an ace from
Leah Allan. Josephson and Allan's Kills helped maintain the lead but was shortly live with MLC going on an eight-point rally. Points were traded but Northland was unable to string together points to cut the lead and fell 13-25.

Josephson led the attack with eight kills, hitting .111 and Allan was behind her with four.
Lily Zapp also recorded a kill in the match.
Kodie Rempp set up 11 of the Northland points. The Jills scored off the service from Allan and Fisher. Defensively, Allan totaled a team-high 14 digs with
Kennedy Gruhlke behind her with seven.

The LumberJills are back in action tomorrow (Saturday) with an 11 a.m., start against Bethany Lutheran College.
