ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team fell to Bethany Lutheran College 85-37 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis. Freshman
Tara Sandoval set a new career-high with 20 points in the loss.

The LumberJills won the tip and Sandoval made the first shot of the game behind the arc getting with
Kodie Rempp assisting on the basket. Rempp had the next two baskets for Northland for five points. Ending the first quarter the Vikings were up 17-8.

Jojo Lowmaster scored the first points in the second quarter for NC after grabbing the offensive rebound and putting it up and in. The other points in the quarter came from Rempp off a two-point jumper.

Coming out of the half Sandoval knocked down another three-pointer. Lowmaster grabbed another offensive board and scored on the put back.
Madison Mendoza came away with a steal and fed Sandoval who hit a deep ball on the fast break.

Sandoval had a big fourth quarter scoring 10 points. Most of the points came from driving layups. Rempp and Mendoza also chipped in the quarter scoring four and two points respectively.

With her big fourth quarter, Sandoval led the team in scoring with a career-high 20 points. Rempp also reached double figures with 11 points. Lowmaster shot 2-for-3 from the field for four points and Mendoza finished with two. The LumberJills had six assists with Sandoval and Rempp tallying two.

Lowmaster snagged six rebounds, two on the offensive glass to lead Northland.
Madi Owens was one behind with five. Three student-athletes finished with four rebounds; Rempp, Mendoza, and
Ellie Kracht. Lowmaster also blocked two shots in the contest.

The Jills have a busy week next week starting on the road on Tuesday at 6 p.m., at North Central University.
