ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Northland College Baseball team continued UMAC baseball action this afternoon as they traveled to St. Paul, MN to take on the Eagles of Northwestern MN. The Jacks, who found themselves trailing 4-0 early, were able to rally, but eventually fell in game one of the three game series today, 4-3.

Northwestern quickly jumped out to the early lead this afternoon, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning and were able to add another run in the bottom of the third to take the early 4-0 lead. 
Ridge Guyette was able to get the Jacks on the board on a sac hit to shortstop in the 4th inning, scoring 
Zach Ross to make it 4-1. The Jacks carried the momentum to the top of the 5th as 
Tyler Murphy had a sac hit, scoring 
Caden Willis. Later in the inning, 
Keaton Arreazola slapped a double down the left field line, scoring 
Hunter Wicklund to make it a 4-3 ball game. The Jacks would have runners on in the 6th and 8th inning but unfortunately, the Jacks were unable to bring any other runs around falling to Northwestern 4-3. 
Anthony Boyle, who got the start on the hill today for the Jacks, went 6.0 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and struck out 7 batters. 
Matthew Traeger pitched two solid innings in relief, only allowing 1 hit and had 0 earned runs in two innings of work. 
The Jacks look to rebound tomorrow (April 28th) against Northwestern in game two and three of the weekend series. Game one is set to start at 1pm at Reynolds Field in St. Paul.
