ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Northland College Softball team continued UMAC action this afternoon as they traveled to St. Paul, MN to take on North Central MN at Reynolds Field. The Jills dominated in both games, picking up the two game sweep, winning 16-1 and 18-1.
Game 1
After taking the early 1-0 lead in the first, the Jills added to their lead in the second as
Janna Bode singled, scoring
Elizabeth Peters. Later in the inning,
Ariana Wilson and
Alison Murphy collected rbi hits, giving the Jills the commanding 5-0 lead.
Kaylee Harnack continued the offense for the Jills in the third inning, smacking a 2 rbi double to center field, scoring
Kayla Preisler and Peters.
McKenna Freerksen later singled, scoring Harnack to give the Jills a 8-0 lead. Bode, Harnack and Wilson continued their strong day at the plate with rbi hits and in the 5th,
Elizabeth Peters capped off the game with a 2 rbi home run and
Kaylee Harnack continued her monster day at the dish with a 2 rbi double to give the Jills the 16-1 win in game one.
Harnack and Preisler led the Jills at the plate with 4 hits in game one. Harnack had 6 rbi's.
Wilson pitched a gem in the circle for the Jills in game one, giving up 1 earned run on only 1 hit while striking out 6 batters.
Game 2
The Jills continued their momentum in game two, exploding for ten runs in the top of the first inning.

McKenna Freerksen all had rbi's in the first. After a 2 rbi single from Bode in the second, the Jills extended their lead even more with six more runs making it 18-0. North Central added a run in the 4th but the Jills cruised to victory winning 18-1, picking up the two game sweep over North Central.

Preisler pitched very well for the Jills going 5.0 innings allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits.
With today's wins, the Jills now move into a playoff position, sitting in a tie for 4th place of the UMAC Standings with a 6-8 conference record.
The Jills are back in action this Friday as they travel to Morris, MN to take on UW-Superior. Game time is set to start at 4pm.
