ST. Bonifacius, Minn.--- The Northland College Softball team hit the road today for a UMAC doubleheader against Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN. The Jills came away victorious in game one, winning 15-7 but fell in game two, 8-0 in 5 innings.
Game 1
McKenna Freerksen led things off in the top of the first for the LumberJills, hitting an rbi single, scoring
Kaylee Harnack to make it 1-0. Later in the inning,
Alison Murphy tripled (2 rbi's), and later scored on a passed ball to give the Jills a 4-0 lead. Crown was able to cut into the Jills lead, scoring two runs in the first and another run in the second inning, but the Jills bats continued to stay hot, scoring three runs in the third and three more in the fourth as
Kayla Preisler,
Janna Bode and Freerksen had rbi hits to give the Jills the 10-3 lead. The Jills continued to swing the bats well in the 5th inning as
Kaylee Harnack had a huge 3 rbi triple, making it 15-6 in favor of the Jills. Crown was able to add a run in the 6th but it wouldn't be enough as the Jills took game one, 15-7 over Crown.

Alison Murphy led all LumberJills with three hits in game one.
Ariana Wilson pitched 6.0 innings in today's game one win, giving up 6 earned runs on 9 hits.
Game 2
In game two, Crown was able to score two runs in the first and three more in the second inning to take the early 5-0 lead. The Jills were able to get runners on base but failed to capitalize, leaving 6 runners in scoring position in game two. Crown was able to score three more runs to take game 2 8-0 over the Jills.
Freerksen led all LumberJills with two hits in game two.
The Jills are back in action tomorrow (April 25th) as they travel to Minneapolis, MN to take on North Central MN. Game 1 of tomorrow's doubleheader is set to start at 1pm.
