Jacks Continue Winning Ways at Home in 8-5 Win Over Concordia-Chicago

ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Men's Lacrosse hosted Concordia University Chicago this afternoon at Ponzio Stadium in a non-conference matchup. The Jacks picked up their 3rd consecutive home win, winning today 8-5 over Concordia.

The Jacks came out of today's game firing on all cylinders, scoring the games first three goals off the sticks of Kyle Parker (2) and Jackson Breton to make it 3-0. With time winding down in the first, Concordia quickly struck back, scoring three goals in under 3 minutes to make it 3-3 right before the end of the first. The Jacks quickly found their grove again in the second as Brodie Trollop and and Parker scored nifty goals to give the Jacks the two goal cushion. Breton scored his second goal of the game with three minutes remaining in the half as he crossed through the defense of Concordia and fired it past the goal keeper. Trollop scored his second goal of the game a minute later to give the Jacks the 7-3 lead in the half. 

The physicality picked up between the two teams in the second half with a combined 7 penalties between the two teams. Parker was able to make it 8-3 in favor of the Jacks mid way through the third. Concordia was able to net a goal at the end of the third and start of the fourth but the Northland defense flexed their muscles and Northland goalie Tony Donaldson stood tall in net to give the Jacks the 8-5 win. 

Donaldson made 5 saves in today's win. 

Northland out shot Concordia 54-18. 

Luke Ballard and Aidan Hood led the LumberJacks defense today with Ballard recording 8 ground balls and Hood causing 7 turnovers. 

The Jacks are back in action this Tuesday as they host Marian University at Ponzio Stadium. Game time is set for 4pm.
