Northland Women's Basketball jumped out to a commanding lead at halftime and rode that lead to a 70-53 victory against Bethany Lutheran on Friday night.

The Northland College Women's Basketball team opened their home conference weekend with a bang on Friday night. Playing host to Bethany Lutheran College, the LumberJills came out shooting in the first half to build a 21 point halftime lead. The Jills were able to match the Vikings second half effort and snap their six-game losing streak with a 70-53 win.
Northland's
Bailey Wynn had the performance of the game. The junior guard scored a career-high 26 points to pace all scorers on 11-for-17 from the floor. She connected on four three-pointers in the contest. Wynn, also, tallied a double-double by grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds. The defensive effort wasn't just on the glass, as the Backus, Minnesota native also contributed four steals in the game.
Miranda Wagner (17) and
Alex Espinoza (14) rounded out the LumberJills in double figures.
Ashley Lopez handed out a game-high 9 assists on the night.
Kodie Rempp hit three three-pointers as well.Â
The Jills (6-11, 2-7 UMAC) will wrap up the home weekend on Saturday afternoon as they host Martin Luther College. Tip off is scheduled for 4:45 PM following the conclusion of the Men's game.
