The Northland College Women's Basketball team completed the weekend home-series sweep on Saturday evening with a commanding 70-50 victory over Martin Luther College. The LumberJills shot 40 percent on the game, going 9-for-28 from three-point territory. The Jills used a strong first quarter to build their lead, growing it to double digits by halftime. The sweep marks the first conference sweep since the 2020 season when the Jills beat St. Scholastica and Martin Luther at home.
Miranda Wagner led the Jills with a game-high 30 points. She, also, contributed six rebounds and two blocks.
Bailey Wynn continued her strong play from the night before with another double-double. She recorded 19 points and 14 boards.
Alex Espinoza went a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. She scored ten overall.
Kodie Rempp made three threes and
Ashley Lopez dished out 11 assists. The LumberJill starters remained in the game until the final minute.Â
The LumberJills (7-11, 3-7 UMAC) will be on the road for the last time in the regular season next week. They will play Northwestern on Friday night before taking on North Central on Saturday.
