Brennan reaches 1000 career points against UW-Whitewater

Brennan scores season-high 25 points against No. 7 Warhawks

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team was defeated 105-71 against No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on the final day of the Radisson Holiday Classic, Saturday night in River Falls, Wis. Jordan Brennan scored a season-high 25 points to lead the LumberJacks and reach 1,000 career points.
 
Blake Richard started the scoring with a layup on the Jacks' opening possession. The Warhawks roared ahead with 18 unanswered points. Kayden Palmi broke up UWW's scoring streak with a layup. 10 minutes in, Brennan started his scoring with a pair of made free throws, then followed that up with a three-pointer. At the 2:32 mark, Brennan scored his 13th point of the half and reached 1,000 career points. In the final 30 seconds, the Jacks added two more baskets from Stephen Kest and Langston Flowers.
 
Brennan picked up where he left off scoring Northland's first points of the second half on a jumper. Drew Lindberg added the next seven points for the Jacks on two jump shots and a three-pointer. Brennan capped off his historic game with another two-point jump shot to end the game with 25 points. Jaden Jones ended the scoring for NC with the team's last three points from a layup and free throw.
 
Brennan had his best game of the season so far, leading the LumberJacks with 25 points. He shot 9-for-19 from the field, 2-for-7 from behind the arc, and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. Lindberg also reached double figures with 16. Rounding out the top three scorers was Jones who was a perfect 3-of-3 from the field and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe. Northland had six assists with Brennan pacing the team with four.
 
The Warhawks outrebounded the LumberJacks 44-to-22. Northland had four student-athletes with three rebounds leading the team: Brennan, Kesti, Jones and Palmi. NC had three offensive boards with Kesti recording two and Jahlani Thornton snagging the other. Kesti also recorded the team's sole block.
 
The Jacks return to Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for a 4:45 p.m., game.
