Jacks return to the court for the Radisson Holiday Classic

Men’s Basketball will take part in two games in River Falls, Wis.

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team returns to the court after the holiday break to compete in the Radisson Holiday Classic, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. The LumberJacks will start the Classic with the hosts on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Falcons are 4-5 this season so far, all in nonconference games. In the most recent game, UWRF fell 75-82 to Hamline University on Dec. 16. UW-River Falls averages 69.8 points per game and are shooting 42.4 percent from the field. Juniors Zac Johnson and Logan Jedwabny have surpassed 100 points on the season at 156 and 112 respectively. Defensively Holland Marshall paces the team averaging 5.7 rebounds per game.
 
The Warhawks are 8-1 coming out of the holiday break. UW-Whitewater is coming off an 80-47 win over Marian University on Dec. 18. The Warhawks are averaging 80.1 points per game while holding their opponents to 63.8 points. UWW is shooting 49.5 percent from the field, a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference high. Sophomore Miles Barnstable leads the team with 167 points with senior Trevon Chislom behind him with 153 points on the season.
 
Northland College is coming off a pair of nonconference losses to Beloit College and Carroll University. Entering the break, the Jacks are 0-2 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference games, dropping their first game in overtime to the University of Minnesota, Morris.
 
Three student-athletes have reached triple-figure points this season: Drew Lindberg (132), Langston Flowers (111), and Jordan Brennan (101). Brennan sits 17 points away from reaching 1,000 career points in the Northland uniform. The Jacks are third in the UMAC in free throw percentage at 71.8 percent and have made the second-most with 140.
 
Defensively, Jahlani Thornton paces Northland with 42 rebounds, averaging 3.8 per game. Lindberg is behind him averaging 3.5 per game. Brennan ranks second in the conference in steals with 22, 2 per game. Stephan Kesti has a team-high six blocks, the 11th most in the UMAC.
