ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team fell in its final home game of 2023 34-72 to the College of Saint Scholastica Tuesday night in a nonconference game in Ashland, Wis.
Katelyn Altaha followed up her season-high with another game in the double figures.

For the second game in a row, the LumberJills scored the first basket. On Northland's first shot,
Madison Mendoza knocked down a deep two. The scoring dried up for the rest of the quarter for the Jills were unable to keep up with the Saints.

Like the first quarter, on the first shot, Northland scored, this time coming from Altaha.
Tara Sandoval got on the scorer's sheet with a free throw and shortly after
Madi Owens went 2-for-2 from the stripe. Altaha scored the final six points for the Jills with four made free throws and a jumper to end the half.

17 seconds into the second half, Sandoval made the opening shot getting an assist from Owens. With three minutes left, Sandoval made the team's only three-pointer.

Altaha continued to her point total scoring the team's first four points in the final quarter. In the final two minutes, Sandoval converted on a three-point play. In the dying seconds,
Kodie Rempp landed on the board with a jumper.

Altaha and Sandoval lead the Jills in scoring at 13 and 11 respectively. Sandoval passed her season-high set last game and scored a three from the third straight game. Owens and Mendoza finished with four points and Rempp ended the scoring with two.

The Saints outrebounded the Jills 37-to-30. Rempp was one rebound shy of reaching double-figures, though did set a season-high. Altaha and
Jojo Lowmaster finished behind her with five. Owens led the team in steals with three.

The Jills end 2023 play with a road game in Milwaukee, Wis., at Mount Mary University on Friday with a 6 p.m., tip.
