ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team makes its home debut at the Kendrigan Center on Saturday afternoon against Loras College at 3 p.m.

The Duhawks are 2-1 to start the season, dropping their most recent game 76-74 to Coe College, starting American River Conference play. LC is coming off a 17-11 season where they fell in its conference championship. Leading the Duhawks scoring is Ali Sabet, averaging 18.3 points per game. He is shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 40.7 from behind the arc. Along with leading in points he also has 20 rebounds. Â

The LumberJacks and Duhawks have not met up since Dec. 18, 2004. In the two games that have been played, Loras has walked away with the win.

Last week the Jacks dropped their games, starting the weekend at Nebraska Wesleyan University falling 74-104 then 58-85 to Buena Vista University. Senior
Drew Lindberg is leading the way in scoring with 41 points. Lindberg set a career-high in the season opener, dropping 23 points.
Jordan Brennan is right behind, averaging 9.8 ppg.

On the other side of the court, Junior
Jahlani Thornton paces the team with 17 rebounds. In the first game this season Thornton snagged eight rebounds. Lindberg is behind him with 14. Of the team's 24 steals, Brennan has eight, four against Buena Vista. Sophomore
Stephen Kesti ranks sixth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, averaging a block a game.
