MANKATO, Minn.– The Northland College Men's Soccer team punched its ticket to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament after defeating Bethany Lutheran College 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Mankato, Minn. Senior
Quinn Bieber scored the winning goal in the 12 minutes to help lift the Jacks over the Vikings.

Both teams got shots off within the first five minutes.
Nolan Melek tested the keeper with a shot high while BLC had a shot miss over the bar. The next shot from the Jacks was from Bieber in the upper left corner to bring Northland up 1-0. Soral Richardson assisted on the goal, his fourth of the season. The LumberJacks' offense was held to only two more shots the rest of the half. The backline for Northland and keeper
Jamie Colvill kept the Vikings out of the net for the rest of the half.

Starting the second half BLC tested the senior keeper, but Colvill added two more saves in five minutes. 10 minutes later was the next shot of the game that the Vikings sailed over the bar. The Jacks did not record a shot in the second half but their defense did not allow an equalizer. Bethany Lutheran had 11 corners in the match but the Jacks' defense kept them out of the goal.

Melek led Northland with two shots in the game, one on target. Bieber had one shot in the match and it was the decider.
Juan Solivellas had the other shot in the match for the Jacks. The defense played a huge role in the win.

Julien Ruoppolo and Solivellas played a full 90 minutes in the backline.

Colvill had his fourth shutout of the season making six saves in the win. His career wins increased to 25 through his four years at Northland College adding to the program record.

The Jacks enter the final week of the regular season as they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Superior Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m., game.
