Northland College Women's Volleyball wrapped up play in the Lawrence Tournament with a pair of victories against Mount Mary University and Maranatha Baptist University. The two victories moved the LumberJills to a perfect 4-0 for the tournament.

The Northland College Women's Volleyball team continued tournament play in Appleton, Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon with a pair of matches. Playing at Lawrence University for the second straight day, the LumberJills were able to carry over their success from a day ago to secure two more wins.
The first match of the day was played against Mount Mary University. The Jills earned the win in five sets in dramatic fashion 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 26-24 and 15-11. Down by two sets, the LumberJills were able to win set 3 on a 5-0 run, setting up a tightly contested set four. After falling behind 14-6, Northland scored four straight points to get back in the game. The two teams went back and forth, until Northland was able to get the score back to 22-24. The Jills rattled off a 4-0 run for the win to force the final set.
Larissa Fossum led the LumberJills with 17 kills in the match.
Elizabeth Montgomery and
Bailey Wynn added 13 and 11 kills, respectively.
Alexa Zadra added 28 digs to lead the Jills defense.
In match two, Northland took on Maranatha Baptist University in a matchup of the two undefeated teams in the tournament. The LumberJills dropped the first set before winning three straight 18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23. A slow start after a long break between matches put the Jills in an early deficit. Although all three of the of the next sets were close, Northland used many large runs of 4 or more to secure each set. Fossum added 16 more kills to lead the Jills again, while
Shelby Justman tallied 14. Montgomery, who had 13 kills of her own, contributed 4 blocks as well. Zadra and
Rachel Callow combined for 33 digs in the match.
Northland College (4-4, 0-0 UMAC) will be back on the court Tuesday night for the UMAC opener against UW-Superior. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.Â
