Ashland, WI - The Northland College Lumberjills picked up two UMAC wins at home by sweeping the North Central University Rams on Tuesday afternoon. The Jills are now 2-6 in the UMAC while the Rams dropped to 2-8. The Jills put on an offensive display in both games as they totaled 26 runs on the day with a 16-1 win in game one, and a 10-2 win in game two.
Sofia Garcia picked up the win in game one. She struck out five in five innings of work while only allowing six hits in the entire game.
Saylor Donnelly knocked in four runs and was a perfect 4-4 from the plate.
Kaylee Harnack and
Lenisa Tomasini each doubled for the Jills and
Elizabeth Peters had a triple.
The Jills used seven runs in the second inning of game two to open a big lead over the Rams.
Kayla Preisler kept the Rams at bay all game as she picked up the win on the mound with three strikeouts over five innings of work. Garcia hit two doubles in game two.
Jenna Reyes drove in two runs and had a double and a triple.
The Jills are in action next on Friday when they host Crown College.
