HANCOCK, FL--- The Northland College Softball team opened up it's annual Florida trip today against Marian University in Hancock, Florida. The Jills quickly fell behind in a 3-0 hole after the first inning and unfortunately could never recover, falling in six innings to the Sabres, 8-0.

After a scoreless top frame for the Jills, Marian quickly ran out to the early 3-0 lead.
McKenna Freerksen hammered a double to left center in the top of the third inning, but the Jills were unable to bring any runs around as the score remained 3-0 for the Sabres. Marian would continue to add runs and keep the LumberJill bats in check to go on to take the game 8-0 in six innings.

Kayla Preisler would see time on the mound for the LumberJills today.
The Jills continue their Spring trip in Hancock, FL tomorrow (3/7) as they take on Muskingum University (9:00am EST) and Johnson and Wales University (1:30pm EST).
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
