Ashland, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks picked up their first home win of the season in dominating fashion on Saturday evening, downing the Carroll University Pioneers 18-4 at Ponzio Stadium. The Northland College Lumberjacks improved to 2-3 on the year while the Pioneers dropped to 0-3.

Jakob Wohlford led the Jacks with eight goals on the evening. Alistair Hearman led the Jacks with six caused turnovers and
Aidan Hood also put in a strong defensive effort with five caused turnovers.
Viktor Wennberg got the win in net with a solid first half while
Elijah Clark came on for the second half and made 8 saves for the Jacks.
The Jacks wasted little time and quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and eventually led 9-1 at halftime. The Jacks left little hope of any comeback with two goals in the opening minute of the second half to extend their lead into double digits.
The LumberJacks were also able to celebrate an individual milestone in today's win as
Jakob Wohlford broke the school record of 105 points.
The Jacks are in action next on Wednesday when they travel to Edgewood in a Midwest Lacrosse League matchup.
