Jacks Fall Late to Northwestern

ST. PAUL, Min.--- The Northland College Lacrosse team traveled to St. Paul, MN for a Midwest Lacrosse Conference match against Northwestern MN. The Jacks took a 5-2 lead into halftime but eventually fell to the Eagles 9-6.

After a back and forth battle early on, it was the LumberJacks who struck first with a goal from Hoy Kelley. He was assisted by Jakob Wohlford to make it 1-0 at the 7:34 mark of the first. After two goals from Northwestern, the Jacks once again took control with goals from Brodie Trollop, Jakob Wohlford, Bailey Lang and another from Trollop to take the 5-2 lead into the half. 

The Eagles opened the second half with two quick ones before Trollop netted his third goal of the game to make it 6-4 for the Jacks. Unfortunately, the Eagles would go on to score the next 5 goals of the game to take the match 9-6 over the Jacks. 

Elijah Clark made 10 saves in net today for the Jacks. 

Next up for the Jacks is their home opener against Carroll University on Saturday (March 19th). Game time is set for 4pm at Ponzio Stadium.
