Ashland, WI – Both of Northland's basketball programs will be on the road Wednesday in quarterfinal matchups for the 2022 UMAC Basketball Tournament. The Jills will take on the top seeded Bethany Lutheran College Vikings, while the Jacks will travel to North Central University to take on the third seeded Rams.
The Jills were hampered by injuries throughout the year and finished in eighth in the UMAC. They've been led by top scorer
Miranda Wagner throughout the season, who's averaged 15 points a night while shooting 38 percent from the field. Tip off for the Jills at Bethany Lutheran is on Wednesday at 5:30PM.
The Jacks have bounced back strongly from last season and picked up wins over Bethany Lutheran, Martin Luther, UW-Superior, and UM-Morris to earn the 6
th seed in the tournament.
Jordan Brennan and
Ryan Rawlings are the team's top scorers as they average 13.7 and 11.7 points per game.
Harley Shear has been solid all year long and has led the team in rebounding while also averaging 9.5 points per game as well.
Tip off for the Jacks is at 7:30PM at North Central on Wednesday.
