Northland Men's Basketball earned a close win on Saturday evening over the College of St. Scholastica 81-80. Senior guard
Jordan Brennan hit the go-ahead three with three seconds left to secure the second victory of the year for the Jacks.

The Northland College Men's Basketball team returned to the Kendrigan Center on Saturday evening after four games on the road. Playing host to the College of St. Scholastica for the first time since 2019 the LumberJacks were able to earn the one point victory on
Jordan Brennan's late three-pointer.
Northland jumped out to the lead on the first posesssion on a layup from
George Butvilas. After the team's exchanged baskets over the first fourteen minutes the Jacks were able to create a stop before Butvilas hit another layup to give them a four point lead. With the half winding down the Saints were able to take the lead and go up by four with 2:49 to go.
Adam Billingsly hit a jumper to cut the deficit to two, and following a Saints' turnover
Jaden Jones hit another jumper for the Jacks to even it up. Scholastica hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to take a one point lead into the break.
Scholastica opened the second half with another three to increase their lead to four. Brennan answered with a three on the ensuing possession to keep the Jack's within one. The Saints used the next thirteen minutes to grow their lead to 13. The two teams exchanged baskets for the next two minutes to keep the Saints ahead by 13 with 4:42 to go. Brennan hit a jumper to start the LumberJacks on a 19-8 run that lasted four minutes, capped off by
Langston Flowers three-point play. Following the made free throw the Saints committed a turnover with :08 left on the clock. Brennan took the inbound pass and found an opening for a deep three attempt that proved to be the game-winner. The Saints had a couple seconds to create a last second attempt, but Flowers stole the ball to secure the victory for Northland.
For the game, Brennan finished with a game-high 27 points on 10-16 from the floor. Flowers tallied 20 points and 5 assists, with a perfect night from the charity stripe. Butvilas, also, finished in double figures with 15 points.
Northland (2-6, 0-0 UMAC) will be back in action next weekend with a conference road trip to kick off the UMAC portion of their schedule. The LumberJacks open conference play at Martin Luther on Friday night, before heading to Bethany Lutheran on Saturday.
