ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Women's Basketball team hosted Mount Mary University this afternoon in a non-conference matchup at the Kendrigan Center. After trailing 37-29 at the half, the Jills powered through in the second, out scoring Mount Mary 46-17 to take today's game 75-54. Northland's

After trailing 10-2 to open the first quarter,
Miranda Wagner scored the next three basketball to cut the Mount Mary Lead to 10-8. A
Kodie Rempp 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter brought the Jills within 1 as Mount Mary led 12-11. In the 2nd, Mount Mary continued their quick start, going on two 6 point runs but back to back 3-pointers from Rempp would cut the Mount Mary lead to 31-29. Mount Mary closed out the first half on a 6-0 run to take the 37-29 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Jills finally found their grove with baskets from
Ashley Lopez and
Alex Espinoza to give the Jills their first lead of the game 41-40. The Jills closed out the third quarter on a 15-0 run, not allowing a basket from Mount Mary from the 7 minute mark of the quarter to take the 48-40 lead. In the fourth, the Jills continued the pressure offensively, scoring the next 9 points off of baskets from Lopez, Wagner and Rempp to extend their lead to 57-41. Wagner added 8 more points later in the half to close out the win for the Jills 75-41 over Mount Mary.
Wagner finished today's game with 41 points, 7 blocks, 4 assists and 13 rebounds.
The Jills and Mount Mary will have a rematch on January 2nd in Milwaukee, WI. Game time is set for 1pm.
