Jacks Fall in UMAC Opener

SUPERIOR, Wis.--- The Northland College Men's Soccer team traveled to Superior, WI to take on UW-Superior in their UMAC conference opener. Lee Dennis struck first for the LumbrJacks off of a PK goal but Superior would use 6 unanswered goals to take this evenings match 6-1 over the Jacks.

After a Northland player was drug down inside the box just 4 minutes into the game, Lee Dennis was able to get the LuberJacks on the board off of a penalty kick to make it 1-0 for the Jacks. The Jacks were able to maintain pressure early in tonight's game but UWS was able to score 3 goals in two minutes to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. 

Thomas Carey had an opportunity for the Jacks early in the second half but UWS was able to strike back for their 4th goal of the game to make it 4-1. UWS was able to find the back of the net two more times late in the half to take tonight's match 6-1 over the Jacks. 

Jamie Colvill made 5 saves in net today for the Jacks. 

The Jacks are back in action this Tuesday (Sep 14) for a non-conference matchup vs. UW-Eau Claire. Game time is set to start at 7pm.
