ASHLAND, Wis.-- The Northland College Baseball team hosted Northwestern, MN this afternoon at LumberJack field for a UMAC Conference doubleheader. The Jacks would fall in both games by scores of 6-3 and 11-4.
Game 1
In game one,
Jesse Carmona would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. After giving up two runs in the top of the first, the Jacks would get on the board in the bottom frame of the inning as
Adrian Bethel would hit a sac fly to left field, scoring
Keaton Arreazola to make it 2-1. UNW would later score two in the third and one in the 5th before the hot hitting
Matt Simpson doubled to left field, scoring
Noah Cross to make it 5-2. Later in the inning, Simpson would score on a passed ball to make it 5-3. UNW would however score an insurance run in the top of the 9th and go on to take game one, 6-3.

Game 2
In game two,
Seth Hackbarth would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. After a solo home run in the top of the first for UNW,
Adrian Bethel would get the Jacks on the board with a single through the shortstop, scoring
Zach Ross. The Eagles would add three runs in the 4th before the Jacks would add three runs of their own as
Garrett Warren would crush a 2 rbi double and
Jake Schramm collected an rbi single to make it a 4-4 ball game. UNW would however control the later part of the innings with runs in the 5th, 7th and 9th innings to take game two, 11-4.
Noah Cross and
Adrian Bethel led all LumberJacks at the plate in game two, collecting two hits each.
The Jacks will continue UMAC play this Tuesday (May 4th) as they travel to Superior, WI to take on UWS. First pitch for game one is set to start at 1:30pm.
