ASHLAND, Wis.-- The Northland College Volleyball team hosted North Central MN this evening in game one of the UMAC Consolation tournament. The Rams were able to come away victorious, winning in 3 sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-18).

After just missing out on the UMAC playoffs, the Jills were seeded as the 5th seed for the UMAC Consolation Tournament. The Rams played in a 8/9 seed matchup, coming away victorious on Monday over Crown College to set up this evenings #5 vs. #8 matchup. The Rams were able to use 2 four point swings in the first set to win 25-16. After trailing 17-9 in the second set, the Jills used 4 straight points to make it 17-13 but the Rams were able to combat with four points of their own and would go on to take the second set, 25-20. The Rams once again would have a lead early in the 3rd set, but three straight Kills from
Larissa Fossum would bring the set to 13-11 but the Rams were able to use a four point and three point swing to take the set 25-18 and match 3-0.

Larissa Fossum (7) led the Jills in kills in this evenings contest.
Makenna Nelson collected 24 assists for the Jills while
Kennedi Bernia had 14 digs for the Jills.
The Jills will close out the 2021 season this Saturday (April 10th) at home vs. the loser of (#7) Martin Luther College and (#6) Bethany Lutheran . Game time is set to start at 7pm.
