ASHLAND, Wis.-- The Northland College Volleyball team hosted Martin Luther College in game two of the UMAC Consolation Tournament. The Jills closed out the 2021 season winning in thrilling fashion, taking down Martin Luther in 5 sets (25-11, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-11).

After dominating the first set, 25-11, the Jills would find themselves in trouble in set #2. After being up 20-17, MLC used 4 consecutive points to take the 21-20 lead. After a kill from
Larissa Fossum, it was once again the Knights, rattling off 3 straight points and went on to take set 2, 25-22. The third set, much like the second, was back and forth through out before the Jills would rattle off points from
Nora Hagen and
Larissa Fossum to take the 24-21 lead late and ultimately took set #3 25-22. After dropping the 4th set, 25-21, it would set up a thrilling finish in the 5th as the Jills would come from behind after being down 7-3 and take the 5th set 15-11 and match 3-2 over MLC.

Bailey Wynn (12) and
Justine Litherland (10) led all LumberJills in kills in the game.
Makenna Nelson would have an incredible 52 assists, while
Kennedi Bernia collected 21 digs for the Jills.
