FOND DU LAC, Wis.-- The Northland College Baseball team traveled to Fond Du Lac, WI for a non-conference doubleheader vs. Marian University. The Jacks would fall by a final score of 15-2 in game one, but rallied to come from behind in game two for the 6-4 win to split the series with the Sabres.
Game 1
In game one,
Brian McKenna would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. Marian came ready to play in game one of today's doubleheader, scoring 3 runs in the first, 4 in the 3rd and 8 in the 4th to take the 15-0 lead.
Keaton Arreazola doubled to left center in the top of the 5th, scoring
Rian Arreazola and Garett Warren but it wouldn't be enough as Marian took game one by a final score of 15-2.

Adrian Bethel, Rian and
Keaton Arreazola all collected hits in game one.
Game 2
In game two,
Shawn O'Connell would get the start on the mound for the Jacks.
Joel Eason got the Jacks on the board in the top of the second inning with a single to the outfield, scoring
Adrian Bethel to make it 1-0. In the third, Bethel singled to 3rd base, scoring
Rian Arreazola as the Jacks increased their lead to 2-0. Marian was able to respond in the bottom frame of the inning, scoring 3 runs and adding another in the 4th to make it a 4-2. The Jacks would never back down in game two as Eason and
Devyn Becker connected with rbi hits to tie the game at 4 in the 6th inning. Either team was able to add a run in the 7th as this one needed extra innings to decide a winner.
Matt Simpson, who had a monster day at the plate for the Jacks, ripped a single to center field, scoring Bethel to make it 5-4 for the Jacks. Later in the inning,
Joseph Veit hammered a double over the left fielder's head, scoring Simpson to make it 6-4 for the Jacks.
Noah Cross, who came in to pitch 4 innings of relief, closed the door in the bottom of the 9th to secure the 6-4 victory for the Jacks.
Cross, who picked up the win for the Jacks, pitched 4.0 innings, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits and struck out an incredible 8 batters.
Simpson led all LumberJack hitters at the plate in game 2 going 3X5.
The Jacks are back in action this Saturday (May 1st) as they host Northwestern MN at LumberJack Field. First pitch in game one is set to start at 1:30pm.
