ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn.-- The Northland College Softball team continued UMAC Conference play this afternoon in a double-header vs. Crown College in St. Bonifacious, MN. The Jills would come away victorious in both games by scores of 17-0 and 12-4.
Game 1
In game one,
Sofia Garcia would get the start on the mound for the Jills. Northland wasted no time getting on the board in game one, exploding for 5 runs in the first and 5 more runs in the second inning to take the commanding 10-0 lead.
Jenna Reyes would smack a triple in the 5th inning, scoring two insurance runs and Crown wouldn't be able to recover as the Jills would take game one, 17-0.
Garcia finished her day, pitching brilliantly, going 5.0 innings, striking out 6 batters while only allowing 4 hits.

Game 2
In game two,
Kayla Preisler would get the start on the rubber for the Jills. The start of game two was much different than game one as the two teams remained scoreless until the 3rd inning as the Jills would put a run on the board as
Natalie Erler would crush a solo home run to put the Jills up 1-0. Crown would however respond with three runs of their own in the bottom frame of the inning to make it 3-1 in favor of the Storm. The Jills would counter with 5 runs in the 4th and 5 runs in the 5th to take the commanding 12-3 lead. Crown would add a run in the 5th but it wouldn't be enough as the Jills would go on to take the win 12-4 and two game sweep over the Storm.
Preisler finished her day on the mound going 5.0 innings, giving up 8 hits and striking out 1 batter.

Elizabeth Peters would lead all LumberJills at the plate with three hits each in game two.
The Jills have a quick turnaround before their next games as they travel to Superior, WI to take on UW-Wisconsin Superior in a non-conference double header. Game one is set to start at 1pm.
