Monmouth, Ill.-- The Northland College Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Monmouth, IL this afternoon for a Midwest Lacrosse Conference game vs. Monmouth College. The Jacks would carry a lead halfway through the third period but would fall by a final score of 10-6.

The LumberJacks would be first to strike in today's contest as
Jackson Breton ripped a shot past the Monmouth goalie to make it 1-0. Monmouth would respond, scoring two goals in just over a minute before
Jakob Wohlford tied things up at 2-2. Wohlford would collect another goal in the second period and the team teams would be tied 3-3 tie going into the half.Â
The Jacks wasted little time after the break as Wohlford would find the back of the net for his third goal of the game and Breton would score another for the Jacks to take the 5-3 lead with 12 minutes to go in the third quarter. Monmouth would respond in a big way, scoring 6 unanswered goals to take the 9-5 lead in the 4th.
Tristan Petrie would make things interesting late for the Jacks with a goal but Monmouth would collect an insurance goal just minutes later and take the game 10-6.Â
Danny Gentile would collect 9 saves in net for the LumberJacks.Â
The Jacks are back in action on April 7th vs. Northwestern MN at Ponzio Stadium. Game time is set for 7pm.
