Hancock, MI - The Northland College Lumberjacks outshot the Finlandia University Lions 34-24 on Tuesday evening but it wasn't enough, as the Lions were able to come away with a 3-1 win.  The Jacks are now 1-1-1 on the year.

The Jacks fell behind early and trailed 3-0 after allowing two power play goals in the second period.  With 6:57 left in the game Cole Woodliffe scored his first goal of the year to make the score 3-1.  Connor Evans setup Zach Ross at the blue line who quickly found Woodliffe in front of the net to give the Jacks a shot at a late game comeback.  The Lions, however, were able to hold on and survive several chances in front of their net, which gave the Jacks the first loss of their season. 

Chris Curr made 21 saves in net for the Jacks.

Northland is in action next on Friday when they host Bethel University at 7:00PM.
