ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Volleyball continued UMAC Conference play this evening, hosting UW-Superior at the Chapple Family Gymnasium. The Jills, who evened the match up 1-1 after the second set, lost a heartbreaker 26-24 third set and ultimately the match 3-1 to UWS.

The Jills looked ready to play early in the first set, using a 4 point stretch to take the early 13-12 lead but UWS closed out the set, scoring 8 consecutive points to take the first set 25-15. The Jills would respond, as
Elizabeth Montgomery would cap off an 8 point stretch to take the 15-7 lead in the second set. Later in the set up 20-18, the Jills would score 5 straight points to take the second set 25-18 over UWS to make it 1-1. The Jills continued the momentum in the third set and at one point were up 21-13 but UWS would however crawl their way back to take the third set 26-24 over the Jills and later the 4th set 25-13 to take the match 3-1.
Larrisa Fossum (15) and
Elizabeth Montgomery (14) led the Jills in kills on the evening.
Makenna Nelson would have a strong game for the Jills, collecting 40 assists.

Annika Herlevi (21) and
Bailey Wynn (15) led the Jills in digs.
The Jills will continue their home stand this Friday (Oct 15) as they host Martin Luther College at the Chapple Family Gymnasium. Game time is set to start at 7pm.
