Jacks Open Play in Florida

Fort Pierce, FL-

The Northland College Baseball team opened their Spring Trip today in Fort Pierce, FL with a double header vs. Lebanon Valley College. The Jacks would fall in game one 5-0 and drop a tight one in game two, 3-0.

Game 1

In game one, Riley Reuter would get the nod on the mound for the Jacks. Lebanon would score one run in the first, one in the second and three in the third to take the early 5-0 lead. Keaton Arreazola would lead things off with a double in the fourth inning, but would later be thrown out at home on a fielder's choice to keep the Jacks in check. Shawn O'Connell and Adrian Bethel would try to get the offense going for the Jacks in the later innings, but the Jacks just couldn't put things together and ultimately fell in game one 5-0.

Reuter would go the distance for the Jacks, pitching 6 innings, giving up 3 earned runs off of 6 hits hits while striking out 5.

Game 2

In game two, Adrian Bethel would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. After giving up a run in the top of the first, Bethel would settle in and find his groove, only giving up 1 hit in 5 innings pitched. Like game one, the Jacks would have a tough time putting anything together at the plate as the score would remain 1-0 into the 7th inning. In the 7th, Lebanon would add two insurance runs and to take the 3-0 lead. The Jacks would go down in order in the 7th as Lebanon would take game two 3-0.

Joseph Veit and Shawn O'Connell would come in for relief in game two.

The Jacks will continue play in Fort Pierce, FL tomorrow (March 2nd) as they Houghton College at 12pm (EST).
