The Northland College Baseball team continued play on day two of their spring trip in Fort Pierce, FL today vs. Houghton College from New York. The Jacks would fall behind early and wouldn't be able to catch up, falling in 8 innings, 17-7.

Kyle Wallace would get the nod on the mound for the Jacks today. Houghton would waste no time getting on the board in this one, exploding for 6 runs in the top of the first to jump out to the early lead.
Garrett Warren would get the Jacks on the board with an rbi single, scoring
Adrian Bethel in the second inning, but Houghton would respond with another big inning at the plate, scoring 4 runs to take the 10-1 lead.
Noah Cross would hit an rbi double down the right field line, scoring Keaton Arrezola in the third inning, but the Jacks would not be able to put a big dent in the Houghton lead. Houghton added 6 more runs in the top of the 4th inning before the Jacks would start to chip away at the lead with a run in the 4th and two runs in the 5th inning. The Jacks would add another run in the 7th but Houghton would score another one in the 8th go on to take the game 17-7.

Noah Cross would both come in to pitch in relief today. Cross would pitch 4 strong innings of relief for the Jacks going 4 innings, giving up 1 run on three hits while striking out 3.

Joseph Veit would lead the LumberJack bats today with two hits each.
The Jacks will continue play in Fort Pierce, FL tomorrow as they play Wilkes University in a 9 inning game. Game time is set for 11am (EST).
