Jacks Host Minnesota Morris on Senior Day

Ashland, WI-

The Northland College Baseball team continued UMAC play at LumberJack field in a doubleheader vs. MN-Morris on Senior Day, honoring Seniors Mason Parker, Jonathan Knusta and Carson Ferry. The Jacks would fall in both games by scores of 17-6 and 23-2. 

Game 1

In game one, Austin Stuckart would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. The Jacks would be first to get on the board off of a Sac Fly to right field, scoring Stuckart. Morris would add a run in the top of the second inning, before the Jacks would hammer in four runs as Kyle Pouncy doubled to right field, scoring Ben Matteson. Later in the inning, Alex Carey would rip a 2 rbi single, scoring Kyle Pouncy and Rian Arrazola. Adrian Bethel would later single in the inning, scoring Jake Schramm to make it 6-1 for the Jacks. Morris would find their groove in the fifth inning scoring 5 runs to make it a 6-6 ball game. Morris would continue their hot-hitting, exploding for 8 runs and would add three runs in the 8th and take game two, 17-6. 

Jake Schramm would continue hit hot-hitting at the plate, leading all LumberJacks with three hits. 

Game 2

In game two, Seth Hackbarth would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. Morris would find their groove in the top of the third inning, scoring 9 runs for the early lead and continue the pressure. The Jacks would score two runs in the bottom of the 7th as Adrian Bethel would single, scoring two runs but Morris would go on to take game two, 23-2. 

Noah Cross, Alex Carey and Joseph Veit would each have two hits in game two. 

The Jacks will continue their busy Spring schedule tomorrow in Minneapolis, MN, playing Crown College in a UMAC doubleheader. Game one is set to start at 1:30pm.
