Superior, WI-
The Northland College Baseball team continued UMAC play today as they traveled to Superior, WI for a doubleheader vs. UW-Superior. The Jacks would fall in both games by scores of 14-6 and 17-2.
Game 1
In game one,
Seth Hackbarth would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. UWS wasted no time getting on the board in game one with two runs in the first and four runs in the second inning to jump out to the 6-0 lead. The Jackets extended their lead in the fourth inning, scoring five more runs to take the 11-0 lead. The Jacks would get on the board in the fifth inning as
Adrian Bethel singled to left field scoring
Austin Stuckart.
Kyle Pouncy would later single to center field, scoring Bethel to make it 11-3. The Jacks would continue to fight, scoring two more runs in the 6th inning making it an 11-5 ball game. UWS would tack on two runs in the 7th inning and the Jacks would add another run in the 8th as Bethel would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded but UWS would go on to take game one, 14-6.
Jake Schramm and
Noah Cross would lead all LumberJack hitters going 3-4 at the plate.
Game 2
In game two,
Earl Kraft would get the nod on the mound for the Jacks.
Jake Schramm would get the Jacks on the board in the top of the first inning with an rbi, scoring
Austin Stuckart for the early 1-0 lead. The UWS bats would continue to stay hot, scoring runs in the first, second and third innings to take the 15-1 lead.
Adrian Bethel would hit a sac fly in the 7th inning, scoring
Mason Parker but UWS would take game two 17-2.
Shawn O'Connell would lead all LumberJack hitters going 2-3 at the plate.
The Jacks continue UMAC play and will have their home opener tomorrow (4/24) at LumberJack field vs. North Central University. Game one is set to start at 1:30pm.
