Jacks Split vs. Robert Morris- Springfield

Jacksonville, IL-

The Northland College Baseball team finished up their six game swing in Illinois today with a double header vs. Robert Morris- Springfield. The Jacks would fall in game one 9-2 but come back strong in game two, winning in convincing fashion, 11-1. 

Game 1

In game one, Riley Reuter would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. The Jacks would strike first early on as Adrian Bethel would have a sac fly to right field, scoring Austin Stuckart to make it 1-0. In the second inning, Garrett Warren would have a sac fly to right field, scoring Rian Arreazola to make it 2-0 in favor of the Jacks. Robert Morris would have strong innings at the plate in the second and fourth innings and jump out to the early 6-2 lead. Northland would continue to collect hits at the plate but would be unable to get any more runs home as Robert Morris would add runs in the 5th inning and take game one, 9-2. 

Jake Schramm, Austin Stuckart and Noah Cross would lead the Jacks at the plate with 2 hits each. 

Game 2

In game two, Adrian Bethel would get the nod on the hill for the Jacks. Carson Ferry would get the Jacks on the board first in the 3rd inning with an rbi groundout, scoring Austin Stuckart. Robert Morris would add a run in the 4th inning, but from their it would be all Jacks as the Jacks would explode for six runs in the 5th inning, highlighted by a 3 rbi triple from Jake Schramm, as the Jacks would take the commanding 7-1 lead. The Jacks bats would stay hot in the 6th inning, as Earl Kraft would add an rbi single, scoring Seth Hackbarth. Jake Schramm would continue his impressive play at the plate in the 6th, with an rbi double as the Jacks would end the inning up 11-1. Adrian Bethel would close the door in the 6th inning as the Jacks would take game two 11-1. 

Adrian Bethel would go the distance, pitching 6.0 innings, giving up only 3 hits. 

Jake Schramm would lead the Jack at the plate going 3-5 with 2 runs scored and adding 4 rbi's. 

Next up for the Jacks is a road trip to Jacksonville, IL for two double header's vs. Illinois College on March 23rd and Macmurray College on March 24th.
