The Jills traveled to De Pere, WI for a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association contest against the St. Norbert College Green Knights.
 
The Jills wasted little time in the first as Saylor Donnelly found the back of the net, quickly giving the Jills the first lead of the game. She was assisted by Madysen Zachmeier. The Jills would threaten throughout the period, but weren't able to add to their lead. They would go into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead still intact.
 
The Green Knights answered early in the second, tying it up at 1-1. The teams would skate up and down the ice fighting for the puck throughout the period, but neither team would be able to break the tie. They went into the third still tied up at 1-1.
 
The Green Knights struck first in the third, taking a 2-1 lead over the Jills. The Jills continued creating opportunities to tie it up throughout the third, but weren't able to break through. The Jills fell by a final score of 2-1.
 
Gabby Suhr recorded 33 saves in the game.
 
The Jills will be back on the ice tomorrow (2/16) for game two against the Green Knights. The game is set to begin at 1:30pm.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
