The Jacks hosted Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opponent The College of St. Scholastica Saints tonight at the Chapple Family Gymnasium.
The Jacks jumped out to a quick lead to start the first half. The Saints answered with an 8-2 run, stealing the lead from the Jacks. The Saints would hit their threes and start to build a lead over the Jacks. The Jacks would start to close the gap, but the Saints would continue to make shots from outside. The Jacks would go into halftime down 51-30.
The Jacks struck first to start the second half. They would continue chipping away at the Saints' lead throughout the half. A 10-0 run by the Jacks would get them right back in the game. The Jacks defense pressured the Saints, forcing turnovers and allowing the Jacks to get to within five late in the half. However, the Jacks wouldn't be able to catch the Saints in time. They would fall by a final score of 94-86.
Modesta Britten and
Brandon Galland recorded a team high 23 points, while Benny Larry Jr, added 16. Britten led with 11 rebounds, while Rycenga added 8.
The Jacks will be back on the court 2/16 at the University of Minnesota Morris. The game is set to begin at 5pm.
