Jacks Lose Heartbreaker

Morris, MN –
 
The Jacks traveled to the University of Minnesota Morris today for their final game of the regular season and a chance to clinch an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference postseason berth.
 
The Cougars took the first lead of the game, but the Jacks quickly answered by going on a 13-0 run. The Cougars would battle back, tying the game up at 17-17. The back and forth battle continued throughout the first half as the teams traded leads numerous times. They would stay close to one another, as the Jacks went into halftime down 26-28.
 
The Jacks started the second half by tying it up at 28-28. They would once again take the lead and start to pull away. The Jacks would go up by eight and keep their distance from the Cougars for a large portion of the half. A 7-0 run by the Cougars would allow them to jump back in the game, cutting the Jacks lead down to three. The Cougars would be able to take the lead with seconds remaining. The Jacks would be able to take the last shot of the game, but it wouldn't be enough. The Jacks fell by a final score of 70-68.
 
Benny Larry, Jr. led the Jacks with 17 points, while Modesta Britten added 16. Britten grabbed a team high 12 rebounds, while Benjamin Arqueros added 5.
 
The Jacks would finish tied with the Cougars for the final UMAC playoff spot, but the tiebreaker would go to the Cougars.
