The Jacks hosted Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opponent the North Central University Rams today at the Chapple Family Gymnasium.
The Jacks got off to a slow start, as the Rams would go on an 8-0 run to start the game. However, it wouldn't take the Jacks long to get their offense going and tie it up at 8-8. The teams would be evenly matched the rest of the half as they would trade leads numerous times. The Jacks would start to pull away with a five-point lead, but the Rams battled back to take a five-point lead of their own. The Jacks would go into the second half down 38-36.
The Jacks started the second half by taking a 39-38 lead. The Jacks offense would find its rhythm as they widened their lead over the Rams by six. The Rams started to make a comeback, but the Jacks would keep them at bay and maintain their lead. The Jacks wouldn't lose their lead for the remainder of the game. They went on to win by a final score of 74-66.
Modesta Britten led the Jacks with a team high 21 points, while
Ethan Rycenga recorded 18. Britten also led the Jacks with 12 rebounds, while
Brandon Galland tallied 7.
The Jacks will be back in action 1/12 at home against the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars. Tip off is set for 5pm.
