The LumberJacks traveled to Crown College today for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup against the Storm.
The Storm jumped out with the first lead of the game, but the Jacks would quickly come back and take the lead. The teams were evenly matched throughout the first half, trading leads with one another numerous times. The Jacks would hit their shots late in the half and began to pull away from the Storm, building a five point lead. The Jacks would keep the Storm at bay and go into halftime with a 42-38 lead.
The Storm struck first to start the second half, regaining a lead over the Jacks. The back and forth battle between the teams continued throughout the second half as both teams would struggle to keep their lead. The Jacks once again began to pull away with a 65-57 lead. However, the Storm would fight their way back into the game, tying it up at 68-68. The Jacks took advantage of their opportunities with just over a minute remaining in the game and would hold on to beat the Storm by a final score of 79-76.
Modesta Britten led the Jacks with a team high 26 points, while Ben Arqueros Jr. added 13. Britten grabbed 9 rebounds, while
Brandon Galland added 8.
The Jacks will be back on the court 1/9 at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
