St. Paul, MN -

The LumberJills traveled to St. Paul, MN tonight for a non-conference contest against the Bethel University Royals.

The Royals attacked the net early, but strong defensive play by the Jills would be able to keep them at bay. However, with less than four minutes remaining in the period the Royals would find the back of the net, breaking the scoreless tie. The Jills went into the first intermission down 1-0.

The Jills' strong defense carried over into the second period, as they would continue to keep the Royals within reach. The Jills' offense started to pick up late in the period, but they weren't able to breakthrough. They would go into the third period still down 1-0.

The Royals struck first in the third period to widen their lead over the Jills. The Jills continued to tally shots on goal throughout the period, but weren't able to get on the board. The Royals were able to score two empty net goals before the end of the period to take a 4-0 lead. The Jills lost by a final score of 4-0.

Gabby Suhr recorded 30 saves in the game.

The Jills will be on the road again tomorrow (1/5) at Bethel University for their second game of the weekend against the Royals. Puck drop is set for 3pm.
