The Jacks hosted the University of Wisconsin-Superior YellowJackets tonight at the Chapple Family Gymnasium.
The Jacks got off to a slow start as the YellowJackets started the game off on an 8-2 run. However, it wouldn't take long for the Jacks to jump back into the game as they would rally back to take a 14-13 lead. The Jacks would control the rest of the half from there as they continued to hit their shots and eventually built their lead over the YellowJackets to seventeen. The Jacks would go into halftime up 41-24.
The Jacks started off the second half by widening their lead to nineteen. However, the YellowJackets would battle back, going on a 9-0 run to cut the Jacks lead down to ten. The YellowJackets continued to chip away at the deficit throughout the half and eventually tied it up at 71-71. A Benny Larry Jr. 3-pointer with under two minutes remaining would give the Jacks a lead that they wouldn't lose. They would hold on to win by a final score of 74-73.
Modesta Britten scored a team high 19 points, while
Ethan Rycenga added 15. Britten grabbed 11 rebounds in the game, while
Brandon Galland tallied 6.
The Jacks will be back in action on 1/26 at Bethany Lutheran College. The game is set to begin at 5pm.
