The Jills opened Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play tonight in New Ulm, MN against the Martin Luther College Knights.

The Jills got the scoring started, but the Knights would answer with a 14-0 run. The Knights would eventually get their lead to 16, but the Jills would battle back and chip away at the Knights' lead. The Jills put together a 14-0 run of their own to jump back into the game and tie it up at 23-23.The teams traded shots with one another for the remainder of the half. However, the Jills would go into halftime down 34-38.

The Knights maintained their lead to start the second half and began to widen it. However, the Jills would be able to rally back and put together a 12-2 run to get back to within 4 of the Knights. The Jills tied it up at 67-67, but wouldn't be able to hold on as they would fall by a final score of 69-68.

Emily Wagner and Emily Howe led the Jills with 14 points each, while Katherine Taylor and Bianca Avalos each added 9. Emily Wagner grabbed a team high 13 rebounds, while Katherine Taylor added 10.

The Jills will be back on the court 12/12 at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm.
