The Jacks traveled to the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire today for a non-conference contest against the Blugolds.
The Blugolds pressured the Jacks early, but the Jacks would keep them out of the net. The Jacks would start out slow on offense, but would create opportunities. However, they wouldn't be able to break through before the end of the period. They would go into the first intermission tied at 0-0.
The Jacks offense picked up in the second as
Cole Woodliffe broke the scoreless tie, putting the Jacks up 1-0. He was assisted by
Jared Hester and
Max Glashauser on the play. However, the Blugolds would tie it up a few minutes later. They would go on to score three more before the end of the period, taking a 4-1 lead into the third period.
The Blugolds added another goal to start the third period, but the Jacks would chip away as Woodliffe would score his second goal of the game. He was assisted by
Kalib (Gus) Ford and
Zackary Fisher on the play. The Blugolds would add another goal late in the period. With 18:53 elapsed in the period
Ty Krause would find the back of the net, getting the Jacks to within 3. The Jacks would fall by a final score of 6-3.
David Krejcik recorded 23 saves, while
Taylor Unruh came in and recorded 7.
The Jacks will be on the road tomorrow (12/8) at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
