The Jacks traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Stout today for a non-conference contest against the Blue Devils.
The Jacks started the game on a 5-0 run, taking an early lead over the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils fought their way to within one of the Jacks, but the Jacks once again began to pull away. The Jacks built their lead to ten. However, the Blue Devils eventually rallied back to take a 27-26 lead. The Blue Devils pulled away with a 9 point lead. The Jacks would go into halftime down 37-28.
The Blue Devils widened their lead to 12 to start the second half. The Jacks continued to hit their shots throughout the half, but the Blue Devils were able to match them, keeping their distance. The Jacks began to chip away at the Blue Devils lead later in the half to get to within 6. However, it wouldn't be enough as the Blue Devils would hold on to their lead. The Jacks lost by a final score of 85-76.
Benny Larry Jr. led the Jacks with a team high 31 points, while
Brandon Galland and
Modesta Britten scored 15 and 14 points respectively. Britten grabbed 6 rebounds, while Galland and Ben Arqueros Jr. each tallied 5.
The Jacks will be back home 12/30 where they will host Macalester College. Tip-off is set for 1pm.
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
