The Jills squared off against the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons tonight for their second game of the weekend.
The teams came out of the gate evenly matched. However, the Falcons would break through first with 5:12 elapsed in the period. The Falcons would continue to pressure the Jills, but the Jills would stay strong and keep them out of the net for the remainder of the period. They would go into the first intermission down 1-0.
The Jills offense picked up in the second as they would control the puck for the majority of the period, out-shooting the Falcons 15-3 in the period. However, the Falcons defense would be able to fend off the Jills attacks. Neither team would be able get on the board. The Jills went into the third still down 1-0.
A penalty at 4:39 elapsed in the period would lead to a power play goal from the Falcons, widening their lead over the Jills to 2-0. However, the Jills would cut the Falcons' lead in half with a goal from
Allyson Reilly. She was assisted by
Karadyn Kiviaho and
Samantha Scott. The Jills would come close as time expired, but wouldn't be able to score before the end of regulation. They would fall by a final score of 2-1.
Gabby Suhr tallied 39 goals in the game.
The Jills will be back on the ice 12/7. Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.
