The Jacks hosted non-conference opponent the Maranatha Baptist University Sabrecats tonight at the Chapple Family Gymnasium.
The Jacks got on the board first, but the Sabrecats would go on an 8-0 run to answer. The Sabrecats continued to hit shots throughout the half, but the Jacks would be able to answer and keep them close. An 8-0 run by the Jacks later in the half would get them to within four of the Sabrecats. A three pointer by Benny Larry Jr. would get the Jacks to within one, while a
Hunter Moe 3-pointer late in the half would tie it up at 26-26 for the Jacks. They would go into halftime down 29-28.
The Jacks started the second half by taking the lead. However, the Sabrecats would retake it a few minutes later. A 14-0 run by the Sabrecats would allow them to build their lead over the Jacks. The Jacks would start to rally late in the half, but it wouldn't be enough. The Jacks would lose by a final score of 75-66.
Benny Larry Jr recorded a team high 16 points, while Ben Arqueros Jr and
Jaxon Mickow each added 14.
Hunter Moe finished with 11 rebounds, while Ben Arqueros Jr and
Modesta Britten each had 8.
The Jacks will be back home 12/7 against the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
