Jacks Hold On, Win Thriller at Lakeland University

Plymouth, WI -

The Jacks traveled to Plymouth, WI today for a non-conference matchup against the Lakeland University Muskies.

The Muskies started the game on a 6-0 run, putting the Jacks in an early hole. Hunter Moe, who made his first career collegiate start today, would hit a three early to immediately cut the Musky lead in half. A layup by Ethan Rycenga a couple minutes later would give the Jacks their first lead of the game. The Jacks offense would fire on all cylinders from there, as they would quickly build a 12 point lead over the Muskies. The Jacks continued to control the remainder of the half, hitting key shots to keep the Muskies at bay. They would go into halftime up 47-33.

The teams traded shots with one another to start the second half, but the Muskies would eventually rally back to get within five of the Jacks. The Jacks kept their lead intact until 7:51 as the Muskies were able to tie it up at 71. The Muskies eventually took the lead over the Jacks. The teams would battle for the remainder of the half, changing leads multiple times. Eventually the Muskies would go up by four, but it wouldn't last as Ben Arqueros Jr. would hit a three with 1:31 remaining in the game to tie it at 88. The Jacks would get the job done from there, as they would go on to win by a final score of 92-88.

Modesta Britten led the Jacks with a career high 26 points, while Ethan Rycenga recorded 15 points. Brandon Galland and Ben Arqueros Jr. each added 14 points. Modesta Britten had a team high 8 rebounds, while Benny Larry Jr. tallied 6.

The Jacks will be back on the court 12/1 at home against Maranatha Baptist University. Tip off is scheduled for 3pm.
